Tabs were introduced in browsers a long time back, the same was expected with Windows Explorer as well but Microsoft didn't implement it till now. However, developers are coming up with their own tabbed interface alternatives to Windows Explorer.
Some of them are Clover and Files. Clover is a bit older than Files and has a Chrome browser style tabbed interface for Windows Explorer. It was developed by a Chinese developer but you can still use it in your Windows 8 and 8.1 operating systems with the English language.
The latest one we are talking about is Files and it is for Windows 10. It may be available for Windows 8 and 8.1 as well but I have not tested it. Let me know if it works on previous versions of Windows ie 8 and 8.1. It is available for free download on Github and Microsoft Store.
Files is the best-tabbed alternative to Windows Explorer, I think you will fall in love with it in no time. As with any alternatives, there are some glitches in this tool as well but when we see overall it is the best choice for Windows 10 users.
